Credit Card Question?

So I am 15 and I take a class called personal finance, now I know more than 15 year olds do when it comes to credit cards, loans, apr and 401ks and such. My teacher said that it is possible that you can receive real credit cards with an account number you know one that you would swipe not a YOUR NAME GOES HERE type things, WITHOUT signing up for it. For exampel American express sends you a gold card, with some real account number, it has a swipe a signature panel ur name on it everything a real credit card, but YOU DID NOT SIGN UP FOR IT, and it just is simple activation not sign up now. IS THIS TRUE>??? IVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH. a credit card company does not just give u a real card and account number with a credit line, without prior consent from the consumer and without applying for it in the first place. THANK U

False. You can't really get credit without proving to the creditors that you are able to pay off at least the minimum due and sign up for them.
