Thank Goodness There Is a Smidgen Of Improvement In The Property Market

Travelling through the town today I was heartened to see that spring is at last coming here in the UK. Typically about now we have lots of spring flowers, the snowdrops having made a fantastic show and died back. So far in 2011 everything has been behind time though. The snowdrops didn’t fare so well and the daffodils and crocus are only just beginning their flowering stint.

Everyone will be hoping that the first signs of improvement in the property market will maintain the energy and really provide us with a good show in 2011 rather than mirroring the snowdrops and coming up with a meagre performance. The market has been decidedly sluggish for well above two years but as well as those budding crocus I also clocked quite a few “sold” signs around the place. This then could be the beginning of an upturn in the market, as people become accustomed to their lot following on from the recession and feel a little more courageous. Bold enough to make the move and put their property on the market.

We have had a very tricky two years, those having to sell house fast have been experiencing lots of pressure to reduce the asking price of their property to even tempt viewers to have a look round. Hopefully though those in this difficult position now may benefit from the spring excitement and get a decent price whilst still achieving a quick property sale. Once the ball is rolling momentum quickly takes over and so if this initial spring excitement can be continued, an improvement of the market may happen. A great incentive for all those who have stalled a house move due to the slow market.

Fingers crossed then that it does not turn into a bit of a damp squib like the snow drops this spring, delayed by the bad weather around Christmas. Both the flowers and the housing market could do with a beautiful warm and sunny spring to encourage growth.
